What are the properties of PURITY™ FG and its alternatives?

Petro-Canada’s PURITY™ FG and its Globaltherm® alternative Globaltherm® FG, are both ideal food grade heat transfer fluids for use in food, beverage or pharmaceutical processing applications.

Using a food grade heat transfer fluid that is H1 or HT1 certified as food grade by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and NSF International, ensures consumer safety when manufacturing products for human consumption. While it is not a legal requirement, auditors such as the British Retail Consortium (BRC) often require food processing plants to use certified fluids to protect consumers in case of incidental contact with the product.

  • It is miscible and interchangeable (for top-up or dilution purposes) with other similar mix thermal fluids such as Globaltherm® FG
  • This thermal fluid is non-toxic, odourless and colourless
