Low temperature thermal fluid
Global Heat transfer’s low temperature heat transfer fluids are engineered for optimal performance in extreme cooling and heating applications, with a service temperature range from -90°C — 300°C (-130°F — 572°F).
Our thermal fluids are extensively used in industries from manufacturing to food and beverage processing. Select your application to learn which thermal fluid is suited for you.
Why use a low temperature heat transfer fluid?
Low-temperature heat transfer fluids are essential for applications requiring precise temperature control in extreme cooling environments. Unlike traditional glycols, these fluids offer superior thermal stability, enhanced cooling efficiency and a broader operational range, ensuring reliable performance in refrigeration, cryogenic processes and other demanding industrial applications.
Operating range: -28° to 120°C (-18°F - 240°F) and provides freeze/burst protection to between -51°C (-60°F) and -60° C (-76°F) depending on concentration
Application: Versatile ethylene glycol-based coolant used extensively in manufacturing. It is not recommended for use with food (either directly or indirectly) and should be used as anti-freeze in processes (e.g. cooling, refrigeration and air conditioning) where direct contact with humans is limited or restrictive.
Key features: Superior freeze/burst protection, low viscosity for easier pumping at low temperatures and non-corrosive formulation.
For more detailed information, visit the Globaltherm® EG product page.
Operating range: Globaltherm® PG provides effective freeze/burst protection to between -51°C (-60°F) and -60°C (-76°F) depending on concentration
Application: Globaltherm® PG is used as anti-freeze in thermal fluid systems. Globaltherm® PG is generally recognised as safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for use as a direct and indirect food additive under the conditions prescribed by the US FDA
Key features: Low toxicity, safe for incidental human contact, effective freeze/burst protection and non-corrosive properties.

Globaltherm® EDT is our first triple action thermal fluid that provides the safety of Globaltherm® PG with the thermal functionality of Globaltherm® EG.
Operating range: -50°C to 176°C
Application: Refrigerant anti-freeze with triple-action performance.
Key features: Certified non-toxic (EPA DeTox™), prevents toxic substance formation, corrosion-resistant and high thermal efficiency.
For more detailed information, visit the Globaltherm® EDT product page.
Globaltherm® XLT is pumpable at very low temperatures and still works efficiently to transfer heat.
Operating range: -60°C to 218°C
Application: Ultra-low temperature potassium formate-based fluid.
Key features: Highly efficient at very low temperatures, non-toxic, biodegradable and non-corrosive.
For more detailed information, visit the Globaltherm® XLT product page.
Marlotherm® XC is an organic heat transfer fluid for use in the liquid or vapour phase in closed heat transfer systems with forced circulation.
Operating range: -90°C to 300°C
Application: Multi-purpose organic heat transfer fluid for closed-loop heating and cooling systems.
Key features: Suitable for liquid-phase operation in non-pressurised systems up to 153°C (243°F) and pressurised systems up to 300°C (572°F), with excellent thermal stability and low start-up temperatures.
