We approach thermal fluid solutions responsibly
We recognise the importance of protecting the planet for future generations. At Global Heat Transfer, we consider the environmental impact of every decision we make and seek to promote sustainable practices throughout our supply chain. By prioritising sustainability in thermal fluid systems, we continuously work to reduce our environmental footprint and drive positive change across our industry.
Through effective waste management, energy reduction initiatives and the sharing of best practices, we strive to strengthen our environmental performance. Our goal is to support a more sustainable future while helping our customers maintain the high levels of performance and quality required for their applications.
Our environmental
responsibility
Environmental responsibility is at the core of our business. To support more sustainable operations, we champion proactive thermal fluid management.
As part of our thermal fluid management programme, we provide a variety of solutions and support designed to extend the lifespan of both your fluid and equipment. Proactive management not only maximises system uptime but also reduces, it also reduces the frequency of fluid replacement, helping to minimise waste and support sustainability goals.
We’re experts in understanding and managing natural degradation that occurs in all heat transfer fluids. Our proactive maintenance programmes help extend the life of your thermal fluid through a range of targeted interventions.
We are ISO 14001
accredited
We hold ISO 14001 certification, which is an independent assessment of an organisation’s environmental management system.
The certification demonstrates our commitment to reducing environmental risks and impacts, while ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations.
Minimising our
environmental impact
We do what we can to reduce our environmental impact across our operations.
Our thermal fluid engineers travel the length and breadth of the UK to test and monitor heat transfer systems, with journeys planned to minimise travel-related emissions.
Our storage and distribution capabilities help us deliver products efficiently and reliably, reducing unnecessary transport and supporting our commitment to sustainability.
Repurpose. Reprocess. Regenerate.
Once a thermal fluid or equipment reaches the end of its lifespan, we seek opportunities to reuse, restore or repurpose components before considering replacement
Reprocessing thermal fluid offers significant environmental benefits. As fluid degrades, we can intervene to remove impurities and restore its intended properties. Services, such as filtration and dilution can extend the lifespan of thermal fluid, reducing the need for disposal and minimising the environmental impact associated with replacement
In some cases , we can also reprocess thermal fluid. For example, once a thermal fluid no longer meets the requirements of an industrial application in an industrial application, we can filter, purify and restore the fluid for marine diesel applications. Repurposing this resource not only reduces waste but also provides a cost-effective and reliable solution for marine operators.
Global Heat Transfer can also extend the life of heat transfer systems by offering services such as system retrofitting, refurbishment and equipment reconditioning. This involves modifying existing systems to accommodate different heat transfer fluids, upgrading components to improve efficiency, or adapting equipment for alternative applications.
If, on rare occasions, fluid cannot be restored, we will ensure it is managed and disposed of through the most environmentally responsible route available.
Sharing best practices
Our thermal fluid engineers can help businesses optimise their operations. In addition to proactive fluid management, we offer:
Access to remote monitoring technology that continuously measures thermal fluid condition
Access to remote support, enabling our engineers to provide advice and analysis without the need to travel
Access to digital data and documentation, with sample reports, recommendations and technical data sheets through the Thermocare® online portal, reducing reliance on a paper-based reporting systems
